Former Leeds United winger Raphinha makes a cameo in Adidas’ 2026 World Cup short film Backyard Legends, sharing the screen with Lionel Messi and Timothée Chalamet.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the five-minute story follows a neighbourhood trio unbeaten for 30 years, with Chalamet trying to recruit Jude Bellingham, Lamine Yamal and Trinity Rodman to end the run.
The film is packed with cameos from past and present. Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham and Alessandro Del Piero are shown as a 1990s team that lost, while pop star Bad Bunny appears late on.
Raphinha delivers a single line about the myth, saying "I believe it." He features alongside Ousmane Dembélé, Florian Wirtz and Barcelona teammate Pedri.
Chalamet recalled copying the skills of Beckham, Del Piero and Zidane as a kid at Pier 40, and said working with Adidas and football greats felt surreal. He added that he prefers the term football and is eager for this summer’s World Cup.
Raphinha is expected to be in Brazil’s World Cup squad. He left Leeds for Barcelona in a £55million move in 2022.
