Rayan, Coutinho and Vegetti left out of Vasco squad to face Nova Iguaçu | OneFootball

Vasco will be without Rayan, Philippe Coutinho and Pablo Vegetti against Nova Iguaçu at São Januário on Sunday, in round 2 of the Campeonato Carioca. The club’s squad list omitted the trio.

Fernando Diniz included only three regular starters, Andrés Gómez, Barros and Léo Jardim. According to Globo.com, of the absentees only Coutinho remains with the club as normal.

Vasco posted a farewell message to Vegetti on Sunday, thanking him for his commitment and sharing a video of his time at the club. He joined in August 2023, played 143 matches and scored 60 goals, becoming their top foreign scorer of the 21st century.

Rayan’s situation is different. Despite Diniz testing a reserve-heavy side at São Januário, the teenager is in talks over a move to Bournemouth, has accepted personal terms and has informed the board he wants to play in the Premier League.

The total package of 35 million euros, about R$ 218 million at the current rate, is virtually agreed. Vasco are pushing for additional future bonuses linked to performance and a sell-on percentage.
