Arbeloa snubbed from Carvajal farewell dinner

As such, on Wednesday night, Carvajal decided to have a farewell dinnner. Players, members of the coaching staff and club employees that Carvajal was familiar with were all invited, but Arbeloa was not say Cadena Cope. This adds fuel to the fire that Arbeloa and Carvajal do not have a good relationship, with Carvajal growing frustrated at his lack of opportunities down the stretch, and Trent Alexander-Arnold preferred. The latter arrived last summer as his long-term replacement.

Tensions between Carvajal and Arbeloa

The first suggestion of a rift between the two emerged in February, when the Real Madrid manager started youngster David Jimenez over him against Valencia. Carvajal was seen venting his frustrations after the game, and while peace talks were reported, in March and April Arbeloa shoed again that he preferred other options to the veteran captain.

Carvajal would later be seen mocking Aledxander-Arnold’s defending during a 1-1 draw with Real Betis. On top of that, his lack of game time has taken him out of consideration for Spain’s World Cup squad. It would likely have been his final international tournament with La Roja, and Carvajal has not been amused as a result.
