Real Madrid have been one of the busiest teams in the transfer market this summer, signing no less than four new players heading into the new season.

But while focus is on improving the first team, the club are equally attentive to the youth market and have recently signed a young, prolific Spanish striker in the form of Manu Navarro, reports AS.

The Spanish youth international, who came through the ranks at Betis from a young age, has now officially put pen to paper with Los Blancos, capping off a deal that was first agreed back in April.

Who is Manu Navarro?

Navarro arrives at the Bernabeu with an impressive reputation, having scored 23 goals for Betis’ youth side last season.

That kind of goalscoring output has marked him out as one of the most exciting prospects in his age group, and Real Madrid moved decisively to secure his signature.

The striker will begin his career at Real Madrid within the club’s youth setup, where he will hope to continue the sharp form in front of goal that made him such a coveted talent in the first place.

Another Betis-to-Madrid transfer

In recent seasons, Real Madrid have repeatedly raided the Betis academy, with the likes of Alex Mora, Jairo Morilla and Hugo Moreno all making the same journey from Heliopolis to the Spanish capital.

The Madrid club have also shown interest in other promising talents from the Betis youth system, including Thiago Polo, underlining a clear pattern of targeting the Andalusian club’s brightest young prospects.

Betis, for their part, fought hard to keep Navarro. The club made several attempts to retain him from the start of the season, offering a contract renewal in the hope of tying down one of their prized graduates.

Ultimately, however, the lure of Real Madrid was simply too strong to resist for Navarro, who will start with the club’s youth teams.
