Real Madrid are preparing for another busy summer in their academy structure, with several promising talents expected to move on in search of regular senior football.

According to AS, the latest Real Madrid Castilla departures could involve Fran Gonzalez, David Jimenez, Manuel Angel and Cesar Palacios, all of whom are approaching crucial moments in their careers.

Each player remains hopeful of earning a place in the first team, but the reality within Mourinho’s squad suggests opportunities will be extremely limited. 

Hence, if those openings fail to materialise, departures are becoming increasingly likely.

Fran Gonzalez and David Jimenez facing uncertain futures

Among the expected Real Madrid Castilla departures, goalkeeper Fran Gonzalez appears one of the clearest cases.

At 21 years old, the academy graduate has reached an age where regular minutes are considered essential for his progression. However, the pathway to the first team remains blocked.

With Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin expected to remain at the club next season, the possibility of breaking into the senior squad is virtually non-existent.

As a result, Real Madrid are strongly considering a loan move, allowing the goalkeeper to gain valuable experience before reassessing his future.

Meanwhile, David Jimenez finds himself in a more complicated position.

The arrival of Denzel Dumfries has further reduced his chances of securing a first-team role, leaving him with two realistic options: continue with Castilla or seek opportunities elsewhere.

Right now, the second scenario currently appears more probable.

As per the outlet, the club is prioritising a permanent transfer while retaining 50% of his future rights, a formula Real Madrid have increasingly adopted with academy talents.

Manuel Angel set for exit, Palacios awaits Mourinho decision

Of the four players mentioned, Manuel Angel is considered the most likely to leave.

In fact, a final decision has already been reached, with no space available for him in Jose Mourinho’s first-team plans.

The midfielder’s ambition is to continue his development in La Liga, and conversations with Deportivo are already underway.

The proposed agreement would follow Madrid’s preferred model, involving a sale while retaining half of the player’s economic rights.

Lastly, the situation surrounding Cesar Palacios is slightly different.

Unlike the others, Palacios has been given an opportunity to impress during pre-season after a direct request from Jose Mourinho.

The youngster will train with the first team in the coming weeks and use that period to evaluate whether there is any realistic path towards remaining in the senior squad.

However, it is said that despite the opportunity, expectations remain modest because competition for places is fierce, and there are currently few openings available.

Should a first-team role fail to emerge, Palacios is also expected to move on.

Interest from Premier League clubs remains strong, and a transfer with Madrid retaining 50% of his rights is understood to be the preferred outcome.
