It has always been clear that Carlo Ancelotti does not count on Jesus Vallejo, and only a miracle it seemed could get the Spaniard to participate in Real Madrid’s dynamics.

However, even a season-ending injury to Eder Militao and a period where the backup Aurelien Tchouameni was not available was not enough to bring Vallejo into Ancelotti’s consideration.

With the manager preferring young academy stars and senior players played out of position over him in central defence, it is now clear that even a miracle cannot help Vallejo.

On his way out

As revealed in a recent update on AS, Vallejo will leave Real Madrid this summer at the end of his contract. This is his final season as a Real Madrid player and he will leave on June 30th.

Frozen out of the Italian tactician’s plans, a winter departure for the 28-year-old defender was also considered. He even received offers from several clubs in Turkey who were willing to sign him immediately but turned down the option instantly.

The Zaragoza-born defender intends to remain in Madrid until the end of the season, at which point, he will depart with his contract expiring.

Vallejo’s career so far has been anything but stable since he joined Real Madrid in 2015. He has since been on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, Wolverhampton and Granada and returned to the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of every season.

This time around, he opted to stay at the club and fight for minutes but has made only one appearance in La Liga for ten minutes.

At this point, Ancelotti prefers Raul Asencio ahead of him on the pecking order and with the likes of Jacobo Ramon and Diego Aguado pushing as well, there is no way back for Vallejo.
