Talks over a new contract with the club have not progressed according to plans, and now, there appears to be a section of fans that has lost patience with him as the Brazilian was booed and whistled at by supporters at the Bernabeu this past weekend against Sevilla.

Reports have suggested that both Vinicius and Real Madrid wish to continue their partnership by agreeing a contract extension, with his current one expiring in 2027.

Vinicius having doubts

However, now, according to Marcos Benito on El Chiringuito TV, Vinicius is now having doubts about renewing his contract with Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old forward, who has been at the club since 2018, feels that for the first time that a part of the club’s fans no longer support him.

This comes after he has been on the receiving end of whistles at the Bernabeu for two games in a row – first in the UEFA Champions League loss against Manchester City, and again this past weekend vs Sevilla.

Talks over a new deal for Vinicius have been held up by the player’s financial demands, which includes a hefty signing bonus – something the club are reluctant to pay.

While talks have been at a deadlock, the recent reaction from the fans adds a new wrinkle to the whole situation, with Vinicius now having doubts about signing a new deal.

Vinicius’ current contract expires in 2027, meaning he will be entering the final year of his deal come summer next year – a situation that is far from ideal as far as Real Madrid are concerned.

So, it will be interesting to see how the two parties move forward on the matter in the weeks to come.
