Real Madrid learn first three La Liga fixtures as new season approaches | OneFootball

As we approach the midway point into the month of July, Jose Mourinho has already started preseason training with the available Real Madrid first team players and several youngsters. The rest of the first team players will join him in training gradually in the coming days, as they end their vacations and their World Cup journeys.

Meanwhile, there is also not a lot of time left until the start of the next season. In fact, the La Liga 2026-27 campaign will kick off in exactly a month, on 15 August. However, the Merengues will play their first match a bit later, as several of their players reached the semi-finals of the World Cup 2026.

As Diario AS has noted, La Liga has already announced the schedule for the first three games of the league season that are going to be held in August. Los Blancos would play their first match on 22nd August, against Espanyol in the RCDE Stadium. However, this would be their matchday 2 game, and the matchday 1 game would be played on 26th August, against Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The matchday 3 game would also take place at the Santiago Bernabeu on 30th August, and in this fixture, Real Madrid would face one of the newly promoted sides, Malaga. This would conclude their activities for the month of August, but before these official games, there are also two friendlies scheduled, the possibility of a third also being alive.

The first of these friendly games will be played on 1st August, against Fiorentina, at the Worthersee Stadion in Austria. Then, on 12th August, the Merengues would travel to Coruna to participate in the 81st edition of the Teresa Herrera Trophy. They will face Deportivo at the Riazor Stadium for this game.

There is also the possibility of Real Madrid travelling to Germany for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Schalke 04’s stadium. The ceremony is scheduled for 13th August, but a friendly game is being considered for 16th August. If this match takes place, the Bernabeu Trophy will not be played this summer, but Los Blancos can still play some friendly games behind closed doors at Valdebebas.
