Real Madrid set for five August fixtures after staggered LaLiga start | OneFootball

LaLiga has set kick-off times for the first three rounds of 2026-27, with matchday one split in two. According to AS, Real Madrid sit in the later group and will play matchday two before matchday one, giving them five August dates.

The first friendly is on one August in Klagenfurt against Fiorentina at the Wörthersee Stadion, 18:00. The Italians have just signed Víctor Valdepeñas for eight million euros.

On 12 August they visit A Coruña for the LXXXI Trofeo Teresa Herrera against Deportivo at Riazor, 21:00. Madrid have won the trophy nine times, most recently in 2013.

There is also a rumour in Germany that Madrid could help mark Schalke 04’s stadium 25th anniversary, celebrated on 13 August, with a game that might instead be played on 16 August. If agreed, a Trofeo Bernabéu might not be held, and behind-closed-doors games in Valdebebas are being considered.

LaLiga action starts at Espanyol on Saturday 22 August at 21:30 at the RCDE Stadium, listed as matchday two. Their first Bernabéu outing is against Real Sociedad on Wednesday 26 August at 21:00, a midweek round. That night marks José Mourinho’s return, after his 2010-2013 spell and a Champions League visit with Benfica earlier this year.

Four days later, on Sunday 30 August at 17:00, Madrid host newly promoted Málaga on matchday three. Málaga step up alongside Racing and Deportivo. That fixture will close their official August schedule.
