Barring Endrick’s confirmed loan move to Lyon, Real Madrid are not expected to make too many moves in the upcoming January transfer window.

However, the club will be active once again in the summer of 2026, with defensive reinforcements emerging as one of the priorities.

There is uncertainty over the future of David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger, while injuries have also been harsh on the club. This has prompted Real Madrid to look for a new centre-back.

The club have been linked with moves for Ibrahima Konate and Dayot Upamecano, among others. But they haven’t either impressed the club or are not available.

Keeping that in mind, Real Madrid have picked Jacobo Ramon as their favourite in the club’s quest to bring in a new defender in the summer of 2026, reports Defensa Central.

A product of Real Madrid’s La Fabrica academy, Ramon joined Como on a permanent deal last summer in order to get regular game-time at the highest level of football.

Halfway into the new season, the young defender has flourished under coach Cesc Fabregas, impressing onlookers with his tactical awareness and physical prowess.

The Spaniard has already made 13 league appearances for Como, with his performances impressing Los Blancos.

Everything suggests Ramon will return to Santiago Bernabeu next season to compete with the likes of Eder Militao, Raul Asencio and Dean Huijsen.

Real Madrid, after all, have an option to buy the player back for just €6-8 million, making him an ideal cost-effective solution for the club.

Nothing is set in stone, however, and it is an option Real Madrid are only considering for now. As for the player himself, he is in no rush to earn a move back to Bernabeu either and wants to focus on his development at Como.
