Real Madrid star may see his game-time reduced in the near future | OneFootball

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid could be in line for a further reduction in playing time over the months ahead.

That’s according to The Athletic, who point towards Fran García as the player in question.

Left-back Fran has for his part been forced to make do with something of a bit-part role with Real Madrid to this point in the new campaign.

Despite impressing at the Club World Cup, the Spaniard has been used sparingly by Xabi Alonso to date.

As much comes chiefly owing to the impressive form being showcased by Blancos summer signing Álvaro Carreras.

As alluded to above, though, Fran could nevertheless see his chances to impress reduced yet further in the near future.

Ferland Mendy, sidelined since last season, is closing on an upcoming return to the pitch.

And as per a report from The Athletic:

‘The player whose opportunities to play may be reduced with Mendy recovered is Fran Garcia.’
