A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is expected to return to starting duties in the club’s upcoming meeting with Deportiva Minera.
That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Raúl Asencio as the player in question.
Defender Asencio has for his part of course been brought firmly back down to earth over the course of recent weeks.
After being thrown in at the deep end by way of a series of starts amid an injury crisis at the heart of Real Madrid’s backline, the 21-year-old has been forced to watch on from the bench once more.
This comes as Carlo Ancelotti continues to rely on midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni as a makeshift option in his backline.
As alluded to above, though, on Monday, Asencio looks set to be afforded a fresh chance to impress.
As per a report from AS, with Antonio Rüdiger in line for a well-earned rest, the stopper will be drafted back into Carlo Ancelotti’s line-up, joining Tchouaméni at centre-back.
