Real Madrid play one of their most important matches of the La Liga season tomorrow as they take on neighbours Atletico Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Merengues go into the game on the back of a run of four wins, including two against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League, and will be eager to build on that in what will be their final game before the international break.

On the other side of it, Los Blancos will resume their campaign with a tricky away game against RCD Mallorca on Saturday, 4 April.

Franco Mastantuono staring at suspension risk

And, Real Madrid could end up being without young attacker Franco Mastantuono for the trip to Mallorca, as he is facing the risk of suspension.

Indeed, heading into tomorrow’s derby against Atletico Madrid, the 18-year-old summer signing is on four yellow cards in La Liga already and another caution would earn him an automatic one-match ban.

It would then lead to him missing the Mallorca game after the international break, once he returns from national team duty with Argentina.

After a bright start to life in Madrid, the young prospect’s stocks have been on the decline for sometime now. Injuries, poor form and indiscipline have combined to keep him away from regular minutes in recent weeks.

In fact, he missed Real Madrid’s last two La Liga games against Celta Vigo and Elche due to a two-match ban he earned after being shown a red card in the defeat to Getafe.

So, it becomes important for Mastantuono to show better discipline and keep his calm on the pitch, should he get an opportunity to play tomorrow against Atletico Madrid.
