Remiro impressed in Real Sociedad’s latest outing, while Oyarzabal’s confidence told as he struck the second. Sucic opened the scoring before injury, and Oskarsson found the net again after coming on.
As reported by AS, the opener arrived when Gorrotxategi escaped Elche’s press, fed Oyarzabal and Guedes squared for Sucic to finish. Sucic then went off injured after 27 minutes. Oyarzabal later made it 2-0 by intercepting a pass from Neto to Iñaki Peña, taking him to nine league goals this season, then shot over when chasing a third on 68.
Guedes ran relentlessly and was withdrawn on 63 to an ovation. Oyarzabal departed on 80 to a standing ovation, with Soler also replaced then. Oskarsson entered to cheers, missed an open goal, then converted a one-on-one for the second game running, while Aramburu’s industry helped seal the three points.
Remiro produced several smart stops. Odriozola justified his recall, Sergio Gómez balanced solid defending with attacking presence, and Zubeldia coped despite Elche’s threat. Caleta-Car mixed good and bad moments but looked improved on earlier in the season.
Gorrotxategi stood out, tidying up, using the ball well and switching play sharply. Soler used possession sensibly, first alongside Gorrotxategi, then higher up after Sucic’s injury. Marín delivered a superb all-round display and had a fine finish ruled out for offside.
From the bench, Turrientes controlled the tempo and dovetailed neatly with Gorrotxategi. Ochieng made his top-flight debut, showing energy with a couple of bright bursts. With a key trip to San Mamés on Wednesday, keeping Guedes fully fit looks important.
