Régis Le Bris says goalkeeper Robin Roefs will be fit to return for Sunderland against Spurs on Sunday, according to Sunderland Echo.
Roefs has been sidelined since the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth in late February because of a hamstring issue, and he rejoined training this week. Dan Ballard remains out with a hamstring problem and could be back to face Aston Villa next Sunday, with Nilson Angulo also close but likely short for Tottenham.
Jocelin Ta Bi, Romaine Mundle, Bertrand Traoré and Simon Moore are sidelined for this game, with Moore suffering a broken hand.
Nordi Mukiele, Enzo Le Fée and Reinildo are in contention to start after returning to the squad at St James’ Park before the recent break. Le Bris says the trio are physically ready to compete at Premier League level.
The head coach expects a demanding test against Tottenham under Roberto De Zerbi. He described Spurs as a big club with top players who have struggled to build momentum this season in a league that punishes any dip.
Le Bris praised De Zerbi’s experience and clear ideas, suggesting he has the tools to shift Tottenham’s momentum, though the timing is uncertain.
