After escaping injuries last season, they are starting to catch-up with Liverpool this time around.

Arne Slot's side suffered two injuries in their last game against Galatasaray with both Alisson Becker and Hugo Ekitike forced to be substituted.

The former looks like a far more serious injury than the latter. Alisson will likely be ruled out of action until the November international week with his expected recovery time around six weeks.

Meanwhile, Ekitike could come back to the Liverpool line-up this weekend as they face Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.

Either way, even if he's not available for that one, he's been called into the French national team squad, so he's expected to play in their games against Azerbaijan and Iceland in the next week.

The duo are not the only ones getting treatment for injuries at the moment though.

The last few weeks has seen some of Liverpool's younger players suffer some massive setbacks in their developments.

What happened to Giovanni Leoni was simply heartbreaking against Southampton in the League Cup last month. The Italian is going to be out for some time. He's unlikely to play again this season and it remains to be seen when he's able to come back from his ACL tear next year.

The goal will be to have him available for pre-season in 2026 but Liverpool won't want to rush him back too soon.

Aside from Leoni, we also saw another terrible injury in September to another new signing.

Will Wright, who arrived from Salford City, was making his debut in the UEFA Youth League when he went down with what looked like a very painful injury.
