"The fact I played one season at Atlético de Madrid does not stop me going to Real one day," Rodri said, speaking to Onda Cero.
"You cannot refuse the best clubs in the world."
The Manchester City midfielder is under contract until 2027 and is currently with Spain. He has been at City since 2019.
Born in Madrid, he joined Atlético at 11, then left to sign his first professional deal at Villarreal at 19.
The 2024 Ballon d'Or turns 30 in June. He is a favourite of Florentino Perez and has not hidden a desire to play again in his homeland.
