According to Superdeporte, the Sadiq-Ramazani connection has re-energised Valencia in 2026, giving Carlos Corberán two first-choice starters. Umar Sadiq and Largie Ramazani, reunited after Almería, have won over the coach, the dressing room and a fanbase starved of idols.
Their first spark together arrived on 15 January, combining for the 0-2 at Burgos in the Copa last 16. Since then Sadiq has scored against Athletic in the Copa and Levante, and won penalties against Villarreal and Osasuna, both converted by Ramazani.
Ramazani’s surge began in mid-January while he was still on the winter exit ramp, adding the El Plantío assist to four goals against Espanyol, Levante, Villarreal and Osasuna, three from the spot. In total the pair have delivered seven goals worth five league points, the current cushion to the relegation places, with Valencia otherwise drawing Espanyol 2-2, Levante 0-0 and Osasuna 0-0.
They dovetail, Sadiq pinning centre-backs, linking with his back to goal and attacking the box with power. Ramazani reads the cues inside or out, breaks into space with pace and arrives on time. When one comes short or pulls wide, the other bursts into the area.
Their influence reaches beyond numbers. Valencia play quicker, more vertical and direct, shedding their usual slow rhythm, and the energy has caught on. Both were applauded off when Corberán substituted them.
