Samu Costa ‘to be considered’ by RB Leipzig amid Benfica interest | OneFootball

Samu Costa is attracting interest from RB Leipzig, a move that could take him to the Bundesliga this summer. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Portugal midfielder is being considered for a switch from Mallorca.

He is on a list of potential reinforcements handed by new Leipzig head coach Martín Demichelis to the board. The club finished third in 2025/26 and qualified for the Champions League.

A move would reunite Costa with Demichelis, who attempted to keep Mallorca up late last season, without success.

Benfica have tracked the 25-year-old, and Mallorca have quoted €25 million for his transfer, believing his 2025/26 form and 2026 World Cup call-up have raised his value.

Costa made 36 appearances for Mallorca in 2025/26, 34 in La Liga and two in the Copa del Rey, across 2,810 minutes. He scored seven goals and supplied two assists. He is valued at €15 million.
