Santos will terminate Billal Brahimi’s contract when his loan at Estrela Amadora ends next Tuesday, 30, according to Diario Do Peixe.
The deal, which runs until the end of this season, is expected to be re-registered on the CBF’s BID before cancellation.
Brahimi will not rejoin the squad. He was loaned to the Portuguese side in February and Santos were to cover his full salary during the spell.
Since arriving, he played only 20 minutes for Santos, coming on in the 2-2 draw with Red Bull Bragantino at Cícero de Souza Marques in the 25th round of the Brasileirão on 28 September 2025.
He was an unused substitute against Grêmio, Ceará, Corinthians, Vitória, Botafogo, Fortaleza and Flamengo, and was not named in a matchday squad this year before his loan.
His signing was championed by football executive Alexandre Mattos, and Brahimi joined after ending his Nice contract, being announced last September.
Born in Beaumont-sur-Oise, France, the 26-year-old represents Algeria. He came through Cergy Pontoise and Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône, then Leixões and Middlesbrough, where he made his senior debut, before spells with Reims, Le Mans, Angers, Nice and Stade Brestois 29, and a loan to Sint-Truiden last season.
