Pep Guardiola believes Savinho has the potential to develop into a top class talent.
The 21-year-old winger started his first game of the campaign in the 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town, scoring the goal that sealed victory at the Accu Stadium.
The Brazilian missed the start of the season with injury, but Guardiola believes when everything comes together for him on the pitch, he will get better and better.
“Savinho in the moment will make it click in the final third, the goal for example [against Huddersfield],” said Pep.
“His numbers for goals and assists last season – Savinho created a lot, and in the final third, [he needs to] be active in the right moment.
“The moment he does that, he's young, he will be a top class player.
“He created a lot against Huddersfield and for me, analyse what they do, the body language it doesn’t matter.
“He will make this step - it will come. Savinho will be a top player for Man City.”
Looking ahead to our next Premier League match, the boss admits he isn’t sure how Burnley will set their stall out on Saturday, highlighting that Scott Parker’s men have employed different formations in different games this season.
Asked if he was expecting the Clarets to play with a low block, Guardiola said: “[Scott Parker] didn't do it against Spurs, but did against Liverpool, so he's adaptable.
“High pressing if they play low block. This is the way, read the situation and what they offer on the table and find a solution."
Asked if fewer teams were playing the low blocks, Pep added: "At the beginning, everyone is so brave, but when the season goes forward the managers see the schedule and table...
"We talk every day, maybe it can happen, tomorrow we know and [if we need to, we will] adapt.”
