The 19-year-old midfielder had to leave the field with a hamstring injury during Scotland U21’s qualifying clash against Bulgaria last week.
Speaking via Voice of Reason on X, Broony confirmed that Ure will return to the Hoops and complete his recovery at his parent club. “Unfortunately, he’s picked up a bad one and is back with Celtic now to begin his rehab,” he said.
“Hopefully, he’ll be back performing like he was before long because he’s a top talent and one we’ll miss. Others now have the chance to step in and show those levels.”

Ure has featured 16 times for Ayr United this season, contributing one assist. His future at Somerset Park now remains uncertain due to the ongoing injury.
Last week, he highlighted how valuable it is to learn from Broony and current Celtic skipper Callum McGregor, aiming to follow in their footsteps at his boyhood club.
Kyle Ure said: “He’s been brand new with me [Callum McGregor], and you could not ask for a nicer guy as well. If I ever need to go and ask him something, I feel like I can, but at the same time, I don’t want to pester him, but it’s just one of those things. He’s a great guy, a great player, and I think everybody knows that now.”
“The gaffer at Ayr [Scott Brown] has been brand new with me since I went in. It was obviously a big factor in me signing there; his connection with Celtic, and Ayr are the sort of club to mature you. He said that he will develop and improve me.”

Ayr still retain Celtic academy graduate midfielder Jude Bonnar, who played alongside Ure for Celtic B last season.
