It was an even match, but decided by one bit of class after the break. Inter U23s lost 1-0 at home to Lecce on Matchday 3 of Serie C Group A. Metlika earned the home side the win, coming off the bench, and scoring a long-distance strike to tip the balance. It was a careful start to the game for both sides, with Lecco coming close in the 12th minute through Furrer's effort, but it was gathered by Calligaris. The visitors pushed on and missed a chance to take the lead in the 17th minute through Ferrini, and then Mallamo who called the Nerazzurri keeper into action once again. Inter then responded in the 21st minute: Cinquegrano struck it well, but Furlan reacted. The game then progressed on to half time without any major chances and both sides cancelling each other out in the midfield. After four minutes of stoppage time, the half ended 0-0. After the break, Mallamo had a chance in the 54th minute, but couldn't hit the target. In the 64th minute, Lecco got in front: Metlika, who had only just come on, let a powerful effort fly from distance and found the back of the net. The Nerazzurri looked to respond right away: in the 72nd minute, Zuberek burst into the area and put in a dangerous cross, but it was cleared by the Lecco defence. And in the 79th minute, Kritta broke down the right and delivered into Rizzo, but once again, Calligaris was able to contain the threat. In the fourth minute of added time, Vecchi's boys piled on the pressure, but without managing to change the final result.
