The Blades are keen on reuniting with Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.
Sheffield United are interested in making a move to bring Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi back to Bramall Lane ahead of the 7pm deadline.
This is according to Football Insider, who believe the Blades are keen to bolster their forward options after a dismal start to the season under Ruben Selles.
Leicester City are also being linked with a move for the Palace wideman.
According to Alan Nixon, via his Patreon, the Foxes are interested in signing Rak-Sakyi before the close of the transfer window.
The Blades’ 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough ensured it was four defeats from as many Championship matches, leaving the Yorkshire outfit slumped at the foot of the table alongside bitter rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
Selles was also subject to discontent from the Sheffield United faithful after the result at the Riverside Stadium, leaving question marks surrounding his long-term future.
But in a bid to rectify his reputation and Sheffield United’s season, the club is reportedly exploring a deal to bring Rak-Sakyi back to the club, after he spent last season on loan in the Steel City.
According to Football Insider’s Pete O'Rourke, Sheffield United are exploring a deal to bring Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi back to Bramall Lane.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan with the Blades from Selhurst Park, scoring seven times and notching one assist from 22 Championship matches as he helped the club reach the play-off final, albeit the team suffering heartbreak to Sunderland at Wembley.
It is believed any deal would be another straight loan deal, just like last term, as the Blades hope the tricky wide player can add an extra string to their bow in the frontline.
Sheffield United are the only team in the Championship yet to get a point on the board, so an added source of creativity is desperately needed to help the club get back on track.
Selles is already under massive pressure to turn things around in Yorkshire, and bringing back a familiar face might just do the trick.
Rak-Sakyi’s direct nature, close control and unpredictability was on show for all to see last campaign, and his added quality from the flanks could lead to a surge of goals for the frontline to help pick up points and look upwards rather than over their shoulders.
Something needs to be done from a Sheffield United perspective to turn things around, and this signing could go a long way to bringing some positivity back.
