Chelsea are apparently interested in signing a Brazilian forward who bagged 20 goals for his club this season.

It’s an interesting story this one already, and for such a player who is so young still.

Forward Vitor Roque is just 20-years-old still, but already he has two caps for the Brazilian national side, and he is a bit of a journeyman at this early stage in his career and has taken some interesting directions.

He started his career playing in Brazil, that is until he was snapped up by Barcelona scouts in 2023. But he played just 16 times for the Spanish giants, scoring only 2 goals along the way.

He then went on loan to play at Betis but again, only managed 7 goals for them in 33 appearances. Barcelona decided they would then sell him, and Roque returned to his native Brazil with Palmeiras.

He’s has much more success there in front of goal again, scoring 20 goals in 56 appearances this season.

So, the rumours and stories about where he might go next are sparking up again, and apparently he has once again caught the eye of some big teams – one of which being Chelsea.

Sky Sports Switzerland report that Roque has become a target for Chelsea, adding that the Blues are ahead of Manchester United in the race for the Brazilian’s signature from Palmeiras.

They say that Chelsea are actively working to sign the young forward in the January transfer window, although personally I can’t see too much in this story for now.
