Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph has claimed that Celtic have included Columbus Crew manager Willfried Nancy on their managerial shortlist. The 48-year-old has enjoyed success in the MLS and is now being linked to replace Brendan Rodgers.

The Irishman resigned a fortnight ago with club legend Martin O’Neill stepping in as interim manager. After two 4-0 wins in the league and a Premier Sports Cup victory over Rangers, MON has steadied the ship but it remains to be seen whether he will be in charge for the next game against St Mirren in Paisley.

Now, Joseph is reporting that Celtic have included Nancy on the shortlist for a new manager, along with Kjetil Knutsen and Kieran McKenna.

Nancy appears to be highly rated but he’s certainly an unknown quantity where Celtic fans are concerned. The chatter about the management vacancy has been limited, which is causing further unrest.

Ipswich sit in 7th in the Championship, on the verge of the playoff places with McKenna at the helm. The Irishman is one of the highest paid managers in England after signing a new deal to shake off interest from Brighton and Chelsea.

Knutsen’s deal comes to an end this year with the Norwegian season ending in late November. However, the Glimt manager has not shifted from his role and it is expected that he will sign a new deal, especially given his unique contract with the club.

Ange Postecoglou is out of work but it remains to be seen whether the Australian would be interested in returning to Glasgow’s East End. The disastrous spell at Nottingham Forest may have impacted Ange’s chances in getting another Premier League job after the impressive Europa League win at Spurs.
