Franco Mastantuono has emerged as one of the most coveted young talents coming through in South America, with top clubs across Europe gunning for his signing.
Real Madrid, for one, have long been linked with a move for the 17-year-old Argentine wonderkid shining bright for River Plate.
However, despite having worked on his signing in the past, Los Blancos decided to walk away after a breakdown of relationship with his agents.
There has been talk of a renewed interest in Mastantuono at the insistence of director Santiago Solari. But, at the moment, Real Madrid are not moving ahead in pursuit of the young attacking midfielder.
Despite the situation being as it is, Mastantuono is prepared to wait for Real Madrid to make an approach even though he has other clubs pushing for his signing.

This claim comes from journalist German Garcia Grova, who reports that the 17-year-old prodigy is in no hurry to leave River Plate and is willing to wait for the Spanish champions to come calling.
This development comes after Mastantuono’s camp held two meetings with Premier League’s faltering giants Manchester United who have shown a serious interest but their package is not meeting the €40 million valuation of the player.
Meanwhile, Olympique Marseille president Pablo Longoria also travelled to Argentina to hold negotiations but was met with a firm rejection.
“Let’s wait for Real Madrid, we are in no hurry to leave River,” was the response from Mastantuono and his entourage.
A generational talent, Mastantuono has already made 55 first-team appearances for River Plate, even racking up seven goals and five assists in the process.
A versatile operator capable of playing as a central attacking midfielder or on the flank, the Argentine whizkid has the makings of a special player. But with the relationship with his agents ruptured, it remains to be seen if Real Madrid consider reviving their interest.
