South London Lace Spartans 1 Brentford Women B 4: Another Boabonay double secures away victory | OneFootball

Brentford Women B defeated South London Laces Spartans 4-1 away from home on Sunday to make it three wins in a row.

The victory means Tommy Ryan-Maynard’s side have maintained their perfect start to the Greater London Women’s Football League Division One South campaign.

The Bees started fast, taking the lead within four minutes when new signing Freya Morgan began life in red and white excellently with a goal. Marta Boabonay played the ball to Kasha Petit, who set up Morgan on the edge of the box to finish into the bottom-left corner.

Brentford doubled their advantage on eight minutes when the ball fell to Petit after good work from Emma Tong. She improvised a backheel finish to put the west Londoners 2-0 up.

Just before the break, Ryan-Maynard’s side had a third when Boabonay tucked home Karina Hiek’s driven cross to put them firmly in the driving seat at half-time.

The home side found a glimmer of hope on 52 minutes when they converted a free-kick from out wide via the crossbar.

Any chance of a comeback was quickly ended by the Bees as Boabonay got her second of the game and sixth of the season to wrap up the victory.

Ryan-Maynard said: "We were really happy with the start we made, we scored two early goals which helped us settle into the game.

"We created lots of good opportunities and defended well, and we are starting to see the squad gelling together which is great."
