Sporting ‘to target’ Elye Wahi, previously wanted by Rui Costa at Benfica | OneFootball

Sporting are considering a move for Elye Wahi as they shape plans for next season, with the Eintracht Frankfurt forward coming off a productive loan at Nice.

Mediafoot reports that the 23-year-old is being closely tracked by the Alvalade club after recovering prominence in France.

Sporting are weighing up either a permanent transfer or another loan. Lens are also monitoring his situation, and more clubs could enter the race in the coming weeks.

In France there is talk of another Portuguese side being interested, although the club’s identity has not been confirmed. For Nice, Wahi delivered seven goals and two assists in 17 appearances, and he is valued at €12 million.

Wahi had been linked with Benfica in previous windows. After Gonçalo Ramos left for PSG in summer 2023, he was considered as a possible replacement, but the club ultimately chose Arthur Cabral.
