Noah Nartey broke the game open in the 64th minute with a left-footed finish into the top left corner, guiding Lyon to a 2-0 win over Nice.
Nartey timed his run into the centre of the box and swept home decisively (64.). The midfielder's calm touch and quick release gave Les Gones the cushion they needed.
He then drew fouls to slow Les Aiglons and relieve pressure, winning free kicks and helping his side manage territory (71.). His off-the-ball work kept Nice's counters in check.
The Dane ended with one goal from his only attempt, 36 accurate passes from 37, four touches in the area and two successful dribbles. Eleven successful passes in the final third underlined how he linked midfield to attack.
With Nartey knitting play and carrying threat between the lines, Les Gones controlled the decisive phases and shut the door on any late swing.
