A decisive and symbolic goal for the captain of the Benin Cheetahs.

Steve Mounié saves Alanyaspor in the Süper Lig
Alanyaspor has Steve Mounié to thank. On the occasion of the 19th matchday in the Süper Lig, the Beninese striker rescued his team from defeat on Çaykur Rizespor's turf (1-1).
In a tense encounter, marked by two red cards in the first half, Rizespor looked set to secure all three points after Mihaila broke the deadlock in the 80th minute. But Steve Mounié had other ideas. Coming off the bench, the Parakou native struck in stoppage time to level the score in the 89th minute, earning Alanyaspor a precious draw.
This goal has special significance for the former Brest forward. It's his very first strike in the Turkish Süper Lig. Even better, Steve Mounié becomes the first Beninese footballer to score in four major European leagues: Ligue 1, the Premier League, the Bundesliga, and now the Süper Lig.
