According to Sunderland Echo, Sunderland have appointed Jack Bewley as a first-team analyst under Régis Le Bris, strengthening their Academy of Light operation.
Bewley arrives after serving as a first-team analyst intern at Rochdale during the 2025-26 campaign. He previously worked as a set-piece analyst intern at Norwich City, with earlier performance analysis experience at FC Marshalls.
His addition comes as the club scale up following promotion back to the Premier League. The Black Cats have reinforced several departments since returning to the top flight, with further growth expected as their pathway structure develops.
Sunderland have also advertised for a senior analyst position, signalling a push to deepen resources in the analysis department. There is recognition that Premier League football demands a significant step up in staffing, infrastructure and preparation.
Bewley studied Science and Football at Liverpool John Moores University and will continue his development within Sunderland’s performance environment. He will combine the role with an MSc in Sport Performance Analysis at the University of Worcester.
Le Bris’ side host Chelsea in the Premier League at the Stadium of Light this weekend, with a place in Europe on the line.
