Ontheminute.com reports that Sunderland are monitoring Bodø/Glimt winger Jens Petter Hauge, valued at about £15m, with Leeds United and Hull City also tracking the Norway international.
The Black Cats have added the 26-year-old to a list of attacking options as interest builds before the new season. Hauge has rebuilt his reputation since returning to Norway and is thought to carry a price tag set by Bodø/Glimt.
He has already featured for AC Milan, Eintracht Frankfurt and Gent, experience across several leading European leagues. That profile means he is not necessarily seen as a long-term project and could provide immediate know-how, versatility and European pedigree.
Naturally right-footed, Hauge is most effective from the left, cutting inside to attack central areas and create chances, and he can operate in other attacking roles. Sunderland are expected to weigh several options as they strengthen Régis Le Bris’ squad, with added quality out wide a likely priority.
His adaptability, together with previous experience in England and European competition, could make him an appealing option. Leeds and Hull are said to remain in contention, so Sunderland may face competition if they choose to formalise their interest.
