Sunderland player ratings v Liverpool as Tutierov strikes in 4-2 defeat

Liverpool beat Sunderland 4-2 in Nashville. Sunderland Echo notes there were still positives for Régis Le Bris and his side.

Le Bris again used 22 players across the two halves. A more experienced XI shared the first half 1-1, before a youthful side were outgunned, though Timur Tutierov scored.

Goalkeeper Melker Ellborg could do little about the finishes, but he handled the press and made a smart save before going off midway through the second half.

Nordi Mukiele carried threat with his runs without carving out chances, and he was secure defensively.

Dan Ballard looked assured on his return, stepping out well on the ball and dealing with danger cleanly. He was booked for a challenge on Rio Ngumoha.

Luke O'Nien was composed in possession, had limited defending to do, and produced an excellent late block.
