Sunderland are set to post record revenues after promotion, with top-flight income expected to surpass their 2016-17 benchmark of £126m, according to Football Insider.
The outlet says 2024-25 accounts show revenue rising from £38.2m to £40.3m during their promotion-winning season.
Régis Le Bris’s side are 11th after a dramatic 2-1 win at St James’s Park, and holding that place could be worth more than £130m in prize and TV income.
Such growth would bolster sustainability and transfer scope as the club refines recruitment under sporting director Florent Ghisolfi, with the Premier League rewarding even mid-table finishes.
On the pitch, Brian Brobbey’s late winner lit the derby celebrations, the striker tore off his shirt in front of Newcastle supporters and beat his chest.
“Not for that. I trained hard, yeah, I trained very hard,” he said. “I have been to the gym a lot. Naturally, I was very happy. It’s a derby.” He was speaking to ESPN.
“No, that doesn’t have to have anything to do with the Netherlands at all. I was just very happy.”
