Sunderland sign Brighton & Hove Albion forward Dent on loan | OneFootball

Sunderland have completed the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion forward Lily Dent on a season-long loan deal.

The Lady Black Cats announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier today.

The 19-year-old moves to Wearside in a bid to further her development in the 2026/2027 season.

Dent joined the Brighton & Hove Albion academy back in summer 2022 and she has gone on to graduate into the senior team. The forward made her senior debut for The Seagulls in a fixture against Chelsea in January 2024 and she has gone on to add a handful more appearances to her tally. Dent signed her first professional terms with Brighton & Hove Albion in summer 2024.

On the international stage, Dent has represented England at various youth levels up to and including Under-20 level.

After joining Sunderland, Dent said “It has been great so far. The people here have been amazing and really welcoming from the start. I’m just excited to get going now. I want to take every opportunity that comes my way at Sunderland. I know there will be plenty of ups and downs, but I’m looking forward to getting started and making the most of every opportunity.”

Dent is Sunderland’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
