Sunderland have reportedly set their stance over Brian Brobbey’s future, with suggestions he will not be allowed to leave easily amid interest.

The former Ajax striker delivered a strong first Premier League season after arriving last summer, scoring seven in 31 league games as Regis Le Bris’ side finished seventh to reach the Europa League. He then struck three times in three World Cup group matches before the Netherlands lost to Morocco on penalties in the round-of-32.

"Brian Brobbey is a player who has really impressed me since he came to Sunderland. They took a bit of a gamble on signing him from the Eredivisie, because strikers coming from that league can be very hit and miss in the Premier League."

He told Football Insider.

"I'm told a few clubs are having a look at him and could try to make a move."

"From Sunderland's point of view, though, there's no way they're going to let him go because he's become such an important part of their squad."

There have been claims Manchester United, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus have shown interest in the striker.
