Sunderland host Nottingham Forest in the Premier League at the Stadium of Light on Friday night, with both Régis Le Bris and Vitor Pereira delivering mixed updates after Thursday’s press conferences.
According to Sunderland Echo, Omar Alderete has recovered from the illness that forced his second-half withdrawal last weekend and is in contention to start, which could see him resume his partnership with Dan Ballard.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after undergoing surgery on a quad injury.
Dan Ndoye, who missed last weekend’s game against Burnley, should be available for this fixture, which would be a significant boost in Hudson-Odoi’s absence.
Murillo suffered an injury last weekend and, although there was hope of a quick return, Pereira has said that is unlikely for this match, a blow for the visitors.
