Sunderland’s Isaac Allan nears Hebburn loan after promotion success | OneFootball

Sunderland goalkeeper Isaac Allan is closing in on a return to Hebburn Town on loan after starring in last season’s promotion-winning campaign.

Sunderland Echo understands discussions are ongoing between the two clubs over another temporary switch for the former Lincoln City youngster.

Allan played a key part as Hebburn won the Northern Premier League title and went up to National League North, gaining valuable senior experience. A return would let him continue his development at a higher level in a set-up he knows.

Hebburn are preparing for National League North and want Allan back as part of their plans. The move would also suit Sunderland, with regular competitive minutes viewed as crucial for young goalkeepers. He would be able to train during the week within Sunderland’s academy structure while testing himself in senior football.

No agreement has been finalised, though talks are progressing over a second spell at Hebburn. Allan remains highly regarded at the Academy of Light after last season’s title-winning form.
