Aaron Anselmino has been the big victim of Chelsea’s chaotic loan policies, and is watching crucial years of his career slip away.

It’s the 30th day in May – time to check out how our number 30 is getting on this month.
Well in fact, right now we don’t have a number 30… but it’s as good a time as any to check in our 30 from last season, Aaron Anselmino.
The defender was perhaps the worst victim this year of BlueCo’s chaotic and ill thought out loan system. The Argentine defender was happily playing back on loan for Boca two seasons ago, before being recalled to sit on our bench for six months.
Then he was loaned to Dortmund, where things were starting to go well despite some injury issues. Just as his momentum built up, Chelsea switched him to Strasbourg in January, to cover for Mamadou Sarr who had come to Stamford Bridge.
In the end Sarr barely played, and Anselmino’s injuries limited him to handful of appearances. Hindsight is 20-20, but just think how much better off he would be had he just stayed and played two full seasons for Boca?
The question now is what comes next – we’re sure Xabi Alonso will take a look at him in the summer, but playing time has to be a priority for him now.
Jorge Mendes is starting to elbow his way into potentially the biggest deal of the summer… there should be no surprise there.
Ashley Cole has recently moved into management, and he had some interesting thoughts on what it would take for Xabi Alonso to succeed at Chelsea.
