For Stellenbosch FC defender Thabo Moloisane, a significant personal milestone against AS Otoho in the CAF Confederation Cup was more than just a number; it was a testament to a profound bond with his club. The 100th appearance, which he marked with a clean sheet and a victory, carried a unique distinction: he had started in every single one of those matches.

The journey to this century began after his move from the now-defunct Maritzburg United, with the Mamelodi Sundowns youth product quickly establishing himself as an indispensable rock at the back for Stellies. His consistent performances have not gone unnoticed on the national stage, earning him call-ups to the last two Bafana Bafana camps and now a place in the 55-man provisional squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

Reflecting on his achievement, Moloisane's affection for the club was palpable. “I mean, look, this is the club I really love so much. So, as long as I’m fit and the coach believes in me, I think I can reach 500 appearances,” he said with ambition.

He credits the club's environment for his growth and success. “The shared hard work and belief we get from coach Steve Barker and the entire technical team encourage me to get better as a footballer because the motto of the club itself is more than football and improving yourself in every game.”

This foundational support, he believes, is what makes such milestones possible. “Stellenbosch believed in me from the get-go when I set foot in the team. I’m very proud of what I have achieved with the club...
