‘Thank you’ – Real Madrid dressing room repeat message for Barcelona star after El Clásico | OneFootball

Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid squad have repeated one phrase over and over in the dressing room in the aftermath of their victory over Barcelona.

That’s according to El Chiringuito TV (as cited by Diario Sport), who confirm the phrase in question as:

‘Thank you, Lamine.’

Real Madrid are of course fresh off a long-awaited return to winning ways against their bitter rivals on Sunday evening.

After welcoming Barcelona to the Bernabéu, Los Blancos battled their way to a well-deserved three points, courtesy of a 2-1 triumph.

The hosts looked the more motivated and well drilled of the two sides throughout the 90 minutes, a factor which Xabi Alonso’s players have since attributed to one key factor.

After Lamine Yamal sparked anger across the Spanish capital in accusing Real Madrid of ongoing ‘stealing and complaining’ last week, the capital outfit used as much as motivation to put Barca to the sword.

The phrase ‘thank you, Lamine’ has therefore been heard time and time again behind the scenes in Madrid over the last 24 hours.
