Yesterday we were writing about Estevao Willian, and specifically how we thought both Carlo Ancelotti and Enzo Maresca were doing a great job at integrating him to their teams at international and club level respectively.

Well today we’ve pretty much had that confirmed by the man himself. In a really long and interesting interview with Sky Sports, the winger spoke about how happy he was to be working with the two managers, as different as they are:
“They are incredible people and incredible coaches,” says Estevao. “Ancelotti told me that he trained Maresca [at Juventus] as well, so that’s amazing. They’re both Italian as well!
“As for Maresca, he’s an incredible person, an amazing human being that tries to bring out the best in me.”
Both coaches have shown a lot of trust in the young winger, but have also been careful not to overexpose him to too much pressure or too much first team action. We don’t want him burning out in his mid 20s like so many wonderkids before him have done.
The fact that Maresca and Ancelotti have that existing relationship also feels like great news for Chelsea, as it will make the politics of handling the youngster’s development a little easier when we reach some club vs. country debates further down the line.
Enzo Fernandez isn’t getting as much praise as Moises Caicedo this season, but his stats are superb and those behind the scenes seem to be really impressed by how he’s taken his efforts to a new level.
Chelsea’s rotation policy is something which is being questioned – but not internally. The club are fully behind Enzo Maresca’s decisions, according to the BBC.
