2 June: Start of trainingPrecisely 16 days after the final Bundesliga match of the season, the Borussia players will return to the training ground in Dortmund-Brackel, where they will officially commence their preparations for the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA. The internationals who are in action for their countries at the beginning of June will join the preparations at a later point in time.

13 June: Departure for the USAShortly before the start of the Club World Cup, the Borussia contingent will head for Fort Lauderdale in Florida, where BVB will be based throughout the tournament. On the evening of their arrival, there will be an activation session for the team on site. The date for the return to Dortmund and the date for the commencement of preparations for the 2025/26 season depend on the Black & Yellows’ performance at the Club World Cup (see the BVB Summer Schedule).

14 June: First training session at the “Florida Blue Training Center” The BVB squad will stay in Fort Lauderdale in Florida during the tournament, with training set to take place several miles south at the complex belonging to Inter Miami, Lionel Messi’s club. Here you will find all the info about the “Florida Blue Training Center”, where BVB coach Niko Kovac will summon his players to attend the first training session on the day following their arrival in the USA.

16 June: Final training session and departure for New Jersey

17 June 2025 (18:00 CEST): Fluminense vs. BVBBVB’s first match at the Club World Cup will take place at the stadium at which Borussia will – in an ideal scenario – also contest their last game at the tournament: the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, which will host the Club World Cup final on 13 July. The first group game will see Borussia go up against the four-time Brazilian champions Fluminense, whose ranks include the former Brazil international and Champions League winner Thiago Silva. The Rio de Janeiro outfit, who won the Copa Libertadores in 2023, will actually be midway through their domestic campaign in Brazil at the Club World Cup; their league matches that were scheduled to take place during the FIFA tournament have been postponed. After the final whistle in the match against Fluminense, Borussia will make the return journey to Fort Lauderdale.

20 June: Final training session and departure for Cincinnati

21 June 2025 (18:00 CEST): Mamelodi Sundowns vs. BVB In their second group game at the Club World Cup, Borussia Dortmund will face Mamelodi Sundowns at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati. South Africa’s record champions retained their league title shortly before the start of the Club World Cup and are also in the final of the CAF Champions League, which the South Africans – whose captain, midfielder Themba Zwane, played a major role in the country finishing third at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations – already won in 2016. Borussia will fly back to Florida immediately after the final whistle in their match against Mamelodi Sundowns.

24 June: Final training session and departure for Cincinnati

25 Juni 2025 (21:00 CEST): BVB vs. Ulsan HDBVB will be back at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati for their final group game, in which they will take on South Korean club Ulsan HD. The five-time national champions and two-time winners of the AFC Champions League won their third K-League 1 title in succession in 2024. The South Koreans are pausing their domestic campaign to take part in the Club World Cup, with scheduled fixtures already postponed. In goal for the South Koreans is international keeper Hyeon-woo Jo, who produced seven saves to help his national team beat Germany 2-0 and eliminate the DFB squad in the group stages of the 2018 World Cup. The Borussia players will then return to Fort Lauderdale on the same evening as the game against Ulsan HD.
