Inbound Celtic signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has got more than a few folk hot under the collar, some more than others…

One of those is none other than Sky Sports resident pundit Kris Boyd. The man who played for both identities of the clubs who have played out of Ibrox, has had his say by describing Oxlade-Chamberlain’s impending move nothing more than an effort to appease the Celtic fanbase.

More intriguingly, Boyd has compared it to the Ibrox club’s famous or infamous (depends on your persuasion) loan capture of Aaron Ramsey from Juventus back in January 2022, which he was raving about at the time.

Welsh international and former Arsenal midfielder Ramsey was greeted at the entrance of Ibrox by hundreds of hysterical supporters, who proclaimed him one of the greatest captures in Scottish footballing in decades.

The SMSM were equally as giddy in their praise, proclaiming him as the second coming of Christ, and not some unwanted injury prone player whose best days were firmly behind him.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain move to Celtic has been led by Martin O’Neill who has been tasked with winning the league. With the Paul Tisdale proposed signing list ripped up on 4th January, the legendary Celtic manager with Shaun Maloney and Mark Fotheringham at his side, began the process of making the much needed additions to the squad.

All have been loan deals due to the summer rebuild with a new permanent manager coming in. The Ox deal is different, as he is a free agent who has been training at Arsenal in recent months. He is signing to the end of the season and there’s a one year option that both parties will look at in the summer.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is an experienced, top quality player who Martin O’Neill reckons will improve Celtic’s title winning chances. No wonder that upsets Kris Boyd.

Incidentally is Kris Boyd still wearing his Hearts strip?
