The year 2025 has come to a close for FC Barcelona following their final La Liga fixture against Villarreal, and it is a year that will live long in the memory of the Blaugrana faithful.
Under Hansi Flick, Barcelona not only re-established themselves among Europe’s elite but also delivered a season filled with trophies, drama, and defining nights that restored belief in the club’s direction and identity.
Out of the 35 official matches played across all competitions in 2025, Barcelona suffered defeat on only 7 occasions and ended the year with three trophies in their cabinet, a clear reflection of their consistency and competitive edge.
While there was one painful European night at San Siro against Inter that ended dreams of reaching the Champions League final, the overwhelming emotion of the year remains one of progress, resilience, and celebration.
Against that backdrop, Mundo Deportivo has selected five victories that best capture the spirit, momentum, and defining moments of Barcelona’s memorable 2025.
1: Real Madrid 2-5 Barcelona (12th January)
Barcelona began 2025 in emphatic fashion by dismantling their fiercest rivals in the Spanish Super Cup final. The Catalans produced a ruthless attacking display. Flick’s side punished Madrid on the counter attack, turning a high-pressure final into a statement victory that set the tone for the year ahead.
2: Benfica 4-5 Barcelona (26th January)
This was one of the craziest games for Barcelona this year, as they were down 4–2 at one point. However, they scored three goals in the final quarter of the match to win 5–4, with the winning goal coming from Raphinha in the 95th minute.
3: Barcelona 3-2 Real Madrid (26th April)
The Copa del Rey final in Seville delivered one of the most dramatic moments of the season. After an open and intense contest, Ferran Torres struck late to force extra time before Jules Kounde unleashed a thunderous winner to secure the trophy.
That goal was widely seen as the emotional peak of the year and underlined Barcelona’s renewed ability to thrive on the biggest stage.
4: Barcelona 4-3 Real Madrid (11th May)
The last El Clasico victory of the 2024-25 season came in May at Montjuic, when the Catalans beat their fierce rivals in La Liga to practically get their hands on the league trophy, with three matches to go. Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, and Eric Garcia led their side to a win in this game.
5: Espanyol 0-2 Barcelona (15th May)
Just days later, Barcelona officially clinched the La Liga title at the home of their city rivals Espanyol. It was not a classic encounter, but it was rich in symbolism.
Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez produced moments of quality that decided the contest, allowing Barcelona to celebrate another league triumph in front of their most hostile neighbours, echoing a similar moment from the Xavi era.
As the calendar turns toward 2026, Barcelona fans can reflect on a year defined by resilience, silverware, and unforgettable nights. If the foundations laid in 2025 are anything to go by, there is plenty more to look forward to.
