FC Bayern can breathe a sigh of relief as the training week got underway with several positive developments that should give coach Vincent Kompany hope for the tasks ahead
After no regular team training could take place last week due to the national team phase, Kompany was asked to return to Säbener Straße for a session on Monday
In addition to preparing for the Bundesliga match at SC Freiburg on Saturday, the focus is already on the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid on 7 April
Particularly pleasing from the Munich side’s point of view: according to BILD, three players who had been struggling recently were able to be reintegrated into team training. Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies, who had to take a break since 10 March, were back on the pitch with the team in full. Both even completed additional running sessions with sprints afterwards, which is a clear sign of their progress
Aleksandar Pavlovic, who recently had to withdraw from international matches with the German national team due to hip problems, also returned to team training at least partially and completed large parts of the session with the group. This suggests that he could also become an option for Kompany again in the near future
There were further positive signs in the goalkeeping position. Jonas Urbig, who had to cancel his first international trip due to a capsule injury in his right knee, completed an individual session with goalkeeping coach Andreas Rössl before team training. Although it was not yet enough for regular team training, the step back onto the pitch is an important sign
Manuel Neuer and the young goalkeepers Jannis Bärtl and David Podar-Stiube were also on the pitch in goalkeeper training. Neuer is continuing to work on his comeback after his muscle fibre tear and is gradually getting closer to a return

Alongside Raphaël Guerreiro, who was not called up for the Portuguese national team, the majority of the training group consisted of talents from the campus, including Maycon Cardozo, Erblin Osmani and Richard Ajayi. U17 top scorer Philipp von Taube was also allowed to train with the professionals for the first time
Dayot Upamecano has not yet returned to team training, as the central defender left the club early following his red card in the international match against Brazil and could only rejoin the team in the coming days
Overall, however, it is clear that FC Bayern’s injury list is thinning out in time for the crucial weeks of the season. The positive developments in Musiala, Davies and Pavlovic are particularly important in view of the clash against Real Madrid.
