Thiago Scuro calls on Eliesse Ben Seghir to stay at Monaco | OneFootball

Amid reports that Eliesse Ben Seghir (20) wishes to leave formative club AS Monaco, Thiago Scuro has called for the Morocco international to stay.

The Moroccan, in what is his first full season at the professional level, has struggled for game time in the back end of the season, since Monaco’s elimination from the UEFA Champions League. However, unlike Maghnes Akliouche (23), who is touted for a departure amid interest from some European giants (Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Manchester City), Scuro doesn’t believe that Ben Seghir is yet ready for the next step.

“Eliesse is under contract. In my opinion, he has all the conditions to be more consistent [going forward]. The best thing for him is to stay in Moanco for next step. He is not at same stage as Maghnes […] the path is here,” said Monaco’s CEO in an interview attended by Get French Football News.

L‘Équipe have recently linked Ben Seghir with a departure. The forward is thought to be valued at around €30m.
