AC Milan secured an important victory in the third round of Serie A 2025/2026, defeating Bologna 1-0 at San Siro. The decisive goal was scored by Luka Modrić in the 61st minute, assisted by Alexis Saelemaekers. This win leaves the Rossoneri on six points in the league, edging them closer to the top of the table. The side are currently in joint-third place alongside Cremonese and Roma, one point off of Udinese and three points behind Napoli and Juventus. This victory marks a promising start to the season for Allegri's men, who have won two of their first three league matches.
AC Milan proved solid defensively, keeping a clean sheet for the second consecutive match. The team started aiming to control possession and create chances using the flanks. Despite some difficulties in the first half, the Rossoneri responded well in the second half, finding the net through Modrić. Maignan's injury forced Allegri to make a substitution, bringing Terracciano into goal, the introductions of De Winter and Ricci injected new energy into the team, which managed to withstand Bologna's attacks. Rabiot impressed on his debut. Smiles and joy all round: now it's time to focus on the Udinese match next Saturday.
