Real Madrid have made their move to sign Rodri. After weeks of speculation, the Spanish side have started talks in a bid to get a deal done. Club-to-club talks are underway, reports Fabrizio Romano, with Rodri keen on the switch. The World Cup-winning skipper has less than a year on his deal at the Etihad.

Bradley Barcola has his heart set on a move to Liverpool, but a deal looks difficult. L'Equipe claim the 23-year-old has given the green light to the transfer, with an agreement in place, though there's a sizeable gap in valuation between the clubs. PSG want a British record fee for the Frenchman, a price Liverpool do not want to match.

Nottingham Forest are close to a coup, with Ousmane Diomande nearing a move to the City Ground. The Sporting centre-back has attracted interest from Europe's top teams in recent windows, but is now set for Forest in a €40m transfer. A Bola are reporting that Oliver Glasner is close to getting his man.

A number of Premier League teams have broken their transfer records this summer, withCoventry City and Brentford next in line to do so. The Telegraph report that Coventry have agreed a £22.5m deal to sign goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, following his impressive loan from Brighton last season.

Brentford, meanwhile, are ready to pay more than £40m to sign Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare. The Malian was on the radar of Manchester United earlier in the window. Crystal Palace, under the management of ex-Lens gaffer Pierre Sage, could rival that interest.
